13 months

Here are some of Henry's 1 year pictures.

Henry is getting to have such a personality.
He is really good at giving sloppy, open mouthed kisses.  I love picking him up from school to see his smiling face.  He is always able to make my day!

We have definitely enjoyed the spring weather.

Henry loves to go on walks and go to the park. When he sees his wagon he gets so excited. He kicks his legs and makes all kinds of noises...pretty much saying "Let's go!!!"

While we were at the park, I found out that Henry is able to climb steps. He loved climbing up the steps and then going down the slide with mommy.

Helping daddy water the garden.  We have blueberry plants just for Henry this year!

So happy about his daddy/son t-shirts!!

We have definitely been to the doctor's office a lot more this past month than we have wanted to.  Henry has had an ear infection (I think in both ears) that just wouldn't go away.  We found out he is allergic to penicillin (previous post), so I guess the other medicine he was given just wasn't doing it.  So this past week he spiked a fever again, while still on meds, so I took him back to the doctor.  I was expecting the doc to refer us to an ENT in order to discuss tubes.  However, this time Henry was given 3 days IN A ROW of rocephin injections.  IT WAS AWFUL!!!!  By day 3, Henry knew what to expect at the doctor's office, and he was not happy to see Dr. Eidson or his nurse.  Hopefully this will do it, only time will tell.

Henry rarely sits still these days.  He is into EVERYTHING!!!!
He definitely keeps me on my toes!

He is walking with his push toy all around the house now.

Always on the move!

Henry definitely loves his doggie, Bailey.  However, Bailey only really likes to be around Henry when Henry has food!  Henry saw a cat yesterday for the first time, and he was so intrigued about this furry animal.  He continued to say d-d-d-d, thinking the cat was a dog.

Playing ON his racetrack.

Henry's new favorite game is to climb under and over his high chair.

He works so hard to climb over the bars.

And of course Henry has to rearrange the furniture.  He loves to push the kitchen chairs around.

Strong little man!  Flipping over his play table.

If there is enough room, Henry will make his way through any hole.  Here he is going under his play table.

Henry now has 8 teeth.  Just recently his right and left bottom lateral incisors cut through.  So now he has the front top 4 teeth and bottom front 4 teeth.

Henry is working on standing up unassisted.  I think he looks pretty sneaky here:-)

Henry waiting on his daddy to get home from work.  The other day when James came home, Henry crawled as fast as he could, smiling, and saying da da da over and over again.  He was so happy to see his daddy.

Always ready to go shopping with mommy! I had noticed his pair of shoes were getting a little snug, so we went to Stride Rite, and he was fitted for his first pair of real shoes.  He wears a size 4 shoe now.

Sporting his 2 new pairs of shoes!!

Henry is also crawling everywhere in the grass.  He use to hate to touch the grass, but now he will crawl off the blanket in order to get whatever he wants.  He loves to be outside!

Silly boy!!!

Happy 13 months Henry!

Allergies???

Henry started with a rash on his back and underneath his arms on Wednesday.  James went and picked him up from the daycare and took him to the doctor.

He was still his happy little self!  He didn't have a fever, he was continuing to eat and drink well, and play like usual.  However, this rash was not normal!

Henry saw Dr. Thompson on this day.  She said that Henry was allergic to amoxicillin/penicillin.  She told James that the rash could get worse, but no worries.

So she sent them on their merry way!

So today Henry woke up like this!!!

Last night he spiked a fever (102.2), didn't eat/drink well, and just wanted his mommy!  By the way, all day Thursday he was fine!  Of course the rash was still there, but no concerns.  So when he woke up with puffy eyes, puffy hands, puffy feet, more bumps all over his body, and a fever still....back to the doctor we went.

Today he saw Dr. White (I really liked her). She didn't think he was necessarily allergic to penicillin. She basically said that this rash (Urticaria, Erythema Multiforme) just kind of happens. However if you google it; it talks about allergic reactions to meds. Dr. White said she wouldn't stop giving him penicillin, but just be cautious in the future.  So it could be the medicine, possibly even food related (he had strawberries recently).  She mentioned not introducing any new foods until the rash was gone.

So in addition to the rash, Henry also has ANOTHER ear infection (left ear). So the doctor prescribed a z-pack antibiotic this round. Plus, oral benadryl for his rash. He began scratching his rash today, so hopefully this will help!

So the rash began on his back and has moved to his front.  The doctor said it will continue to 'move' and will probably last about 2 weeks. (Google says 2-6 weeks!!!)
We go for a follow up appointment in 2 weeks.  This time we will see his primary doctor, Dr. Eidson.  I am sure he will have another view as well.  I think I have figured out each doc has their own opinion!
I also see us visiting an allergy specialist in Henry's future....we will see.

So now we wait for the rash to go away!  Happy eater again and ready to play:-)

Happy Easter

Ready to head to Grandpa Jerry's for Easter

We were able to go to Crestwood, KY to celebrate Easter with Jerry.  Henry really had a great time.  The weather was perfect.  It was nice to be with family, eat LOTS of food, and just relax.

Always ready to go for a ride in his wagon.

Henry's first turtle

Only to look at, we had to say bye-bye to the turtle.

Now Henry is ready to ride!!!

Henry really enjoyed the sound of the 4 wheeler and of course all of the neat looking buttons.

Loved Grandpa's toy!!!

Hanging with the boys

Blackberry face:-)

Love my sweet boy

The Easter bunny stopped by and dropped off some goodies.

Henry liked playing with the eggs more than the toys or candy.

Now ready to try some candy.

Loved the sugar!!!  Tasted his first sucker (strawberry ring pop).

All dressed up and ready for church.
We attended the Easter service at St James' Episcopal Church in Pewee Valley, KY (small town outside of Crestwood).

Henry was so good during the service.  He sat on our laps and 'listened' to the sermon.

He was also ready for a nap.  When he gets sleepy he just becomes mellow and really clingy.

So thankful for my family.
