9 months

9 months old!!!

So what can I say about Henry.....

He is so animated!!!  :-)

Henry LOVES tags.  He can find a tag on anything and everything.  Then of course it goes straight to his mouth. 

He weighs around 19.7 lbs.  This is me weighing him.  (He has his 9 month well visit in Janurary.)  But I know this kid is growing like a weed!!!  He is growing out of the 9 month clothes and continues to wear size 3 diapers. 

He eats his fruits and oatmeal in the morning and vegies and oatmeal in the evening.  He also has his milk every 3-4 hours during the day. 

Henry loves to blow bubbles now and babbles a lot.  No teeth yet, and we aren't quite crawling yet either.  He pushes himself backwards while on his belly, and then he also scoots himself backwards when he is sitting upright on our wood floor.  It won't be long before this kid is on the move!!!

So blessed with our sweet boy!!!

Christmas 2011

 James, Henry, and I enjoyed a quiet morning at home on Christmas Eve morning before heading to church, and then driving up to Evansville.

I really think my favorite part of our Christmas weekend was going to church on Christmas Eve with my family of 3.  Henry even sat with us during the service instead of going to the nursery.  He was such a good boy!

James and I love this ice cream shop in Green Hills Mall.  We got a scoop of gelato pistachio ice cream, so we had to share with Henry!!

8 months

So Henry is 8 months old today!!! He is such an easy going, laid back baby. 

Anything and everything goes straight into his mouth! He still doesn't have any teeth, which I am not really in a hurry for, but he sure does act like he is teething.  Who knows!!! 

Henry had way too much fun shopping with mom!!!  He didn't really ever fall alseep, but he was really trying.

Henry is also not spitting up as much anymore....yay!!!!  He does every now and then, but it is NOTHING like it was.  I guess he really is "growing out it," just like everyone told me. 

Henry definitely knows who mommy and daddy are.  He will now reach out for me when he wants me to hold him.  He is a mama's boy:-)

Give Thanks

I am so thankful for the many blessings in my life.....

 Our healthy, beautiful, precious, sweet, happy, easy going, curious, and silly baby boy. 

When we are out and about people will often ask me if he is always this happy.  And my response is, "Yes, he really is a happy boy."  I am so thankful for Henry.

I am thankful for Henry's sleeping patterns too!!  Here lately he has had a few nights where he was QUITE FUSSY, but for the most part this kid has slept like a champ since day one.  I think God knew this mama needs her sleep. :-)  Who knows what has been going on lately.  Maybe Henry just wanted to be held or maybe he is teething....yep, still no teeth for this little guy. 

  Our family.  I am thankful for Henry's Godparents Missy and Paul and their presence in his life.  I am thankful for my parents and their 40 years of marriage (on Thanksgiving day, 2011).  I am thankful for their friendship and guidance in my life.  I am also very thankful for my in-laws and the support we have from them.  Family may not be right next door, but they are only a phone call away for us to lean on. 

 

Of course, James!!! I don't know what I would do without him.  Our lives are very busy these days with his last year in law school, but it will be over soon and we are looking forward to it.  I am so thankful for his determination in life, his love for his family, and just the way he always makes me smile. 

I am thankful that James and I decided to have Henry baptized when he was only 4 weeks old.  Yes, 4 weeks old!!! Now I think back and wonder what in the world I was thinking taking him out at 4 weeks old, but it was a beautiful service and I am thankful for it!  I am thankful for our church and God's presence that He has in our lives.  (This picture is Henry going to church this morning....isn't he sweet!)

I am thankful for the amazing opportunity to be Henry's mom.  My new favorite store is Babies R Us, and I think it might be one of James' too.  We love to go shopping there and find anything we can to help Henry grow and learn. 

This is Henry learning to drink from a sippy cup.  We are still nursing and drinking milk from bottles, but just playing some with the sippy cups.   

I am also very thankful that Henry is still nursing.  A little over a month ago he had a day or two that he would not nurse.  It really about broke my heart.  I know this time will end, but for now I cherish the time with him. 

I am thankful for our jobs, our health and our time that we have with each other. Time seems to fly by now since Henry is here. Yes, time passed quickly before, but now it just flies by. I mean how is our sweet boy already 7+ months old!!!!

Just look at that sweet boy....."I think I will just rest for minute."  :-)
