One month

I cannot believe a month has already come and gone!!!  Henry has blessed our lives in so many ways already.  He has now slept for 7-8 hours at night for about a week straight.....I really hope this continues!!  He tends to be fussier in the evenings, but that is perfectly fine with me as long as he continues to sleep at night. :-)  At his 3 week check up Henry weighed 8 lbs 6 oz and was 21 and 1/4 inches long.  Henry also is enjoying tummy time....well sometimes!  This week Henry was really mad during tummy time and rolled over from his stomach to his back. He is also beginning to make different sounds now...really just one sound and then of course his crying.   So exciting!!!
On Saturday April 23, 2011 Henry was baptized at Christ Church Cathedral in Nashville, TN.  I was worried about how Henry would act, but he was a good boy as he always is.  We were very blessed to our families with us at his baptism.  Paul and Missy are his Godparents, and James and I are so happy to have them in our lives.
I am continuing to enjoy my time off with Henry.  James is busy with work and finals.  This school year will be over soon and we are looking forward to the summer where we will all have more time together!

Here are some pictures of the last month!!!

Henry is here!

James and I enjoyed our birthday weekend together.  We went to dinner, cheered on UK to the final four, and just enjoyed spending time together.  Then on Sunday March 27, 2011 Henry decided to bless us with his presence!  I had just fallen asleep, rolled over and my water broke at 9:40pm!!!!  I really didn't know what had happened.  I yelled for James and he put our bags in the car.  Then we raced down to Baptist Hospital in Nashville, TN.  I began having strong contractions on the way down.  Once we arrived at the hospital I was 4 cm along, then shortly after I was 6, and then 8.  I had never felt such pain!!!!  I could barely think, let alone breath like I needed to.  Needless to say, I received an epidural (at 8 cm along). :-)  Once I had that, I was much calmer and relaxed!!  My labor/delivery was moving very quickly.  The epidural slowed down my delivery some, so I had some time to "relax."  Then, at 6:00am I was ready to push, and our precious Henry was born at 7:31am on March 28, 2011.  He weighed 7 lbs 3 oz and was 19 inches long.  Henry is a true blessing in our lives and we cherish every moment with him.

We went home from the hospital on Wednesday, March 30th.  Then at Henry's doctor's appointment on March 31st, we were told that he had jaundice.  We were sent a bili blanket at home to help with his jaundice, but it did not work.  So then after his recheck on Friday, April 1st we were told that he needed to be admitted to the hospital again for more treatment.  He was put in the incubator Friday night through Saturday evening.  His numbers had reached 23 on Friday, and then on Sunday when we left they had dropped to 13.  This was a very scary time for us because of his numbers being so high.  Thankfully my milk had come in and I was able to pump and give him my breast milk along with supplemental formula to help hydrate him.  So, on Sunday, April 3rd we were able to take our precious boy home with us....for good!  He really is a good boy.  He is very strong and likes to kick and scream when his diaper is being changed.  He enjoys his feeding time with mommy, as I do as well!
