May was a very busy month for us. We had Steeplechase, Mother's Day (I got a card and flowers from Henry and James, and then Henry made me the cutest craft at school), James' graduation, and then Henry's 1st haircut.
And I am not sure it would have been complete without another ear infection. :-(
So this time we finally received a referral to see an ENT. So on May 22, Henry, Granny (glad she was in town to help), and myself headed to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital to see Dr. Rivas. Henry completed a hearing test, which showed that his hearing is within normal limits. I was relieved to see that. He still had fluid in his ears, and of course the recurrent ear infections, so we are now scheduled for tubes on July 6, 2012.
Hopefully between now and then, and then of course after, we will be ear infection free....fingers crossed.
Henry is talking/babbling nonstop now. He points to EVERYTHING and will try and figure out what it is and how to say it. He now says 'na-na', which means eat to him. When he is hungry, wants more, or when I put him in his high chair and he knows it is time to eat, he will say, 'na-na.' He has signed 'eat' a few times for me and shows me 'all done.' Sometimes I think I hear him say 'all done' too. He continues to say d/g for dog, mama, dada, and the other day he said 'k' for cat and car. Today, James and I heard him say bird too. He loves to look at the birds outside. He will point to them before I even notice one is there. He knows what eat and then the sign for eat means and he knows what drink, and then the sign for drink means too. He will follow/do what I am asking him to do. He is also shaking his head no.
I know I will think of other words or things he is doing later on too.
It is amazing how much he understands and how much he is learning!!!
Henry has started to throw some little fits too. He will wine and move his arms and upper body side to side. It is definitely his way of telling me, 'I don't want that, or I don't want to do that.....pretty much NO.' He is really becoming more independent.
Having fun at the Cock of the Walk while Granny was here. We enjoyed a good fish dinner.
Just precious!!!!
We are happy that the summer weather is here!!!
Henry loves to be outside and splash in the water.
He isn't so sure about the pool this year. He is getting more and more use to it each time we get in. I think it scares him that he can't stand up or sit down. He doesn't really like his float. Hopefully he will, but for now we just hold him.
Today, he liked to hang on the edge of the pool and 'walk' around it.
.
Always ready for a wagon ride!
Every morning and after every nap, he will give me the biggest hug. He just really makes my day!
Notice Henry's haircut. :-)
So sweet!
Henry uses his walker to go anywhere and everywhere he needs to go. He is able to turn around corners, back up and turn around, and follow me all around the house.
He will push anything that moves so he can stand up and walk.
Henry is definitely cruising everywhere. He holds on to anything and gets where he needs to go.
He is wearing size 4 diapers. I am not sure how much he weighs, but I do know he is getting heavier because my back is hurting more and more.
Grilling with daddy.
Looking forward to the summer ahead.
