My pregnancy with Miss Abigail Marie was definitely an eventful one!!
On January, 27 (Abigail was 26 weeks, 5 days gestational) I went to see my OB, Dr. Melanie Dunn because I was concerned my water had broke. The test showed no amniotic fluid was leaking; however, the results of the ultra sound showed that Abigail was measuring small and the amniotic fluid was actually low (3 cm). So I was put on bed rest at home and started seeing high risk doctors as well.
Then on February 10, (Abigail was 28 weeks, 5 days gestational) we realized my water had actually broke, and I was leaking amniotic fluid. So I was a direct admit to St Thomas Midtown hospital and put on strict bed rest while we waited for Abigail to "bake" and grow for as long as possible.
The ultimate goal was for Abigail to be born at 34 weeks gestational.
I realized I had absolutely no control over any of these events, so I continued to pray and take it day by day-moment by moment. I knew God was in control and left it to Him. This was definitely hard for me....I feel like I always have to be in control!
It was so hard for me to be away from Henry and James during this time. Henry would say he was coming to see me at "Mommy's office." My "office" became my new home for the next 31 days until Abigail was born on March 11, 2016.
The joys of a wheelchair ride around the hospital. James was back in forth between home, the hospital, and work. He was definitely my rock during all of this.
Loved seeing this sweet face!
Henry at school.....
He wants to be a super hero when he grows up!
Slumber parties in the hospital!
My dear friend, Emily, came to see me and stayed 2 weekends with me.
I had a baby shower in the hospital as well. This was definitely something I looked forward to while my friends planned it. So thankful for them!
Michelle, Karleen, Mom, Janet, and Stacey
My mom; there is no one else like her!
She didn't want to leave my side while I was in the hospital. She was there for me and for Henry and James as well. So thankful for her.
Abigail was 31 weeks, 1 day gestational here. Continuing to grow!!!
Every chance we got, we headed outside to the serenity garden.
We made the best of it!!
I never would have thought I would meet such a great friend while on bed rest. So thankful God placed Jennifer Wrinkle in my life during this time. It was so great to have someone to talk to and visit with daily. Her twin boys and Abigail were born 5 days apart.
(Abigail was 32 week 2 days gestational here.)
Thankful for this sweet face!
He is the BEST Big Brother to Abigail.
